Kate Middleton and her daughter Princess Charlotte made a fashion statement at King Charles’s coronation by wearing matching headpieces made in the shape of sparkling leaves. The silver headpieces, designed by Jess Collett in collaboration with Alexander McQueen, featured 3D leaf embroidery with nature-inspired motifs, an ode to traditional royal headgear such as the Cartier Halo tiara and the Lotus Flower tiara.

Kate’s robe and mantle were of blue and red regalia overlaid with a formal robe and mantle, while her ivory gown featured silver embroidery depicting British wildflowers and bunting. She also wore a George VI Festoon Necklace, made in 1950 and worn by Queen Elizabeth throughout her reign. Her pearl and diamond earrings once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. Her daughter Princess Charlotte wore an all-white ensemble, adorned with silver accents and paired with white Mary Jane shoes.

The coronation of King Charles III, formerly known as Prince of Wales, took place after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who reigned from 1952 to 2022. The coronation was a once-in-a-generation event, and the royal family made sure to dress appropriately to mark the occasion.

During the ceremony, Princess Charlotte sat with her parents in the pews of Westminster Abbey and held tightly to her younger brother Prince Louis’s hand. Prince George served as one of the Pages of Honor for King Charles, following closely behind his grandfather as he entered the abbey.

The royal family’s outfits received a lot of attention from royal watchers, and Kate and Princess Charlotte’s coordinated fashion statement was no exception. Not only did they match their headpieces, but they also wore similar Alexander McQueen ivory silk crepe dresses with national symbolism, while Prince George and Prince Louis wore red suits.

Overall, the coronation of King Charles III was a historic event, and the royal family’s outfits will go down in history. Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte’s matching headpieces were a unique touch, adding a pop of sparkle and nature-inspired motifs to their already elegant ensembles, and making a statement that will be remembered for years to come.
