The famous house that served as the exterior of the Brady family home in the 1970s TV show “The Brady Bunch” is now up for sale after it underwent a renovation by HGTV. Located in Los Angeles’ Studio City, the five-bedroom, five-bathroom house has been listed at $5.5 million by HGTV, which purchased the property for $3.5 million in 2018. The network spent an additional $1.9 million to renovate the iconic property in 2018 as part of a four-part series called “A Very Brady Renovation.” The house, sitting on a 12,000 square-foot lot filled with citrus trees, was transformed into a replica of the famous TV set, giving it a mid-century modern look. The home is expected to be shown to buyers in early 2022.

Danny Brown, a realtor for the property, said that the home’s rebuild and design was “meticulous.” The renovation of the property was documented in the series “A Very Brady Renovation,” where six of the original cast members of “The Brady Bunch” reunited to bring the house back to life. The series was a hit and became the second-most photographed home in the USA after the White House.

Beyond the renovation of the home for “A Very Brady Renovation,” HGTV is branching out further into the Brady Mansion phenomenon with the upcoming show “Building Brady.” The show will feature former cast members of The Brady Bunch and HGTV stars working together to build a replica of the famous home in Idaho, outside Boise. The show is set to premiere in early 2022, as part of HGTV’s franchise of renovation shows that encourage viewers to renovate rundown properties in hopes of adding value and modern style.

The “Brady Bunch” TV show aired from 1969 to 1974, following the life of the Brady family with two single parents, Mike and Carol Brady, who move in together with their six children from previous marriages. The storylines featured the children adjusting to living together while experiencing sibling rivalry and learning life lessons along the way.

In the real world, the iconic home is now an opportunity for someone to own a piece of TV history, with the added bonus of a renovated interior that looks exactly like the house viewers saw on screen. With the HGTV renovation, the house retains its mid-century modern style and natural lighting, including large windows and sliding glass doors. The furnishings and accessories of the home are also included in the listing.

While there is no indication so far of who might buy the house, it is expected to attract a lot of interest from both classic TV fans and those who appreciate the architectural style. With the combination of a famous location and a meticulously renovated and designed interior, the sale of this property will be one to watch in the coming months.
